Method 1: Sideload Chrome + Use ‘App Clone’ Privacy Bypass
Because BYD’s underlying software is fundamentally a modified Android OS skin, you can sideload the Google Chrome APK file via a laptop or USB. However, simply installing Chrome won’t work in Drive unless you mask its access to the car’s speed sensors. BYD users achieve this workaround using an app cloner: [1, 2, 3]
- Enable ADB Debugging on your BYD:
- Go to the vehicle’s Settings screen.
- Navigate to Version or Software Information and repeatedly tap the Factory Reset button (or build number depending on your exact firmware version) until the hidden developer/secret menu pops up.
- Locate the option labeled Turn on ADB Debugging and activate it. [1]
- Install Chrome and an App Cloner:
- Connect your laptop to the car’s system via a wireless ADB tool or a USB drive containing your desired APKs (e.g., Google Chrome APK and a utility like App Clone). [1, 2]
- The Sensor Bypass Trick:
- Open the App Clone app on your BYD screen.
- Select your sideloaded Google Chrome app to clone it.
- Under the clone’s Privacy Options/Settings, you must explicitly look for and disable/uncheck sensor permissions (specifically permissions related to vehicle telematics, speed tracking, or vehicle state).
- When you run the cloned version of Chrome, it fails to read the vehicle’s “In-Motion” status string, allowing it to function completely unfettered even when pushing 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. [1, 2]
Method 2: Use the ‘Overdrive’ Bypass Pipeline
For enthusiasts running newer BYD firmware, independent developers on GitHub host open-source bypass tools built specifically for BYD systems, such as Overdrive. [1]
- Tools like this execute an ISP Blocklist Bypass directly over the system shell.
- By running commands via an ADB shell runner on the system, it actively strips the “video-in-motion” restriction across specified packages, allowing native or third-party web browsers to load directly through the car’s built-in cellular data eSIM
- • browsers to load directly through the car’s built-in cellular data eSIM.
Eu tentaria desbloqueando a central antes.
